About Kirkstall Valley Grants
Open Source Arts (OSA) and Kirkstall Valley Development Trust (KVDT) are collaborating to launch an amazing new micro-grant scheme! Inviting innovators, activists, community builders and climate positive pioneers who want to make a big difference. We want to fund projects which improve the environment and quality of life for people living, working, enjoying or travelling through the Kirkstall Valley. When we say Kirkstall Valley, we don’t just mean the bit near the river – we mean the communities of Armley, Burley, Bramley and Kirkstall – even as far as Rodley and Horsforth.
We are always open for applications. Applications received by 15th January 2020 will be considered for the third round of funding. Eligible applicants will be asked to attend our interactive awards evening on Wednesday 12th February, where we will be granting up to 4 grants of £250.
During 2019, we funded six projects, all of which we believe can make a signifcant difference in the area.
We also welcome involvement from people, who might not want to apply for an award, but who would like to help with the process. Please keep your eyes peeled for this exciting new opportunity by signing up to the newsletter by clicking here!
About the grant
We want to empower residents in the Kirkstall Valley, of all ages, backgrounds, views and abilities and create a leading example of what a sustainable future could look like.

What is sustainability?
“Development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs” (Brundtland Report, 1987)
