About Kirkstall Valley Grants
Inviting innovators, activists, community builders and climate positive pioneers who want to make a big difference.
In 2019, Open Source Arts (OSA) and Kirkstall Valley Development Trust (KVDT) got together to launch an amazing new micro-grant scheme!
We want to fund projects which improve the environment and quality of life for everybody in the Kirkstall Valley. When we say Kirkstall Valley, we don’t just mean the bit near the river. We mean the communities of Armley, Burley, Bramley and Kirkstall – even as far as Rodley and Horsforth.
We are always open for applications. Applications are considered and grants awarded every three months. Application closing dates for 2020 are 15th January, 15th April, 15th July and 15th October. Grant winners will be asked to attend our interactive awards evening (dates TBC), where we will be giving up to 4 grants of £250.
Since 2019, we have funded ten projects, all of which we believe can make a significant difference in the area.
We also welcome involvement from people, who might not want to apply for an award, but who would like to help with the process. To keep in touch with the latest news, sign up to our newsletter by clicking here!

What is sustainability?
“Development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs” (Brundtland Report, 1987)
